Electrical Stimulation

What is electrical stimulation?
  • Electrical stimulation (E-stim) is the passing of a light electrical current from one gel coated pad to another place on the sides of a targeted area. E-stim can provide pain relief, decrease swelling, reduce stress, increase blood flow and increase strength.
  • How does electrical stimulation (E-stim) work?
  • The sensory receptors in the skin that sense electrical current move down the nerves to the spinal cord quicker than pain can. This helps to temporarily block the body from sensing a painful area and provide pain relief.
